Electronic Transfer of Prescription Draft Release 1.0
30 October 2009. NEHTA releases Electronic Transfer of Prescription Draft Release 1.0.
NEHTA’s e-Medication Management program has been tasked to develop key specifications required for software vendors, GPs and Pharmacists to establish a national environment for standardised electronic prescription exchange, one where prescriptions can be sent securely and reliably to community pharmacists, while maintaining the consumer's right to their own choice of pharmacy.
The Electronic Transfer of Prescription Draft Release 1.0 document set defines the minimum requirements for the interoperable exchange of prescriptions between general practices and community pharmacies within Australia.
The release package incorporates five key documents: a Concept of Operations, a Business Process and Requirements Specification, a Technical Requirements Specification, a Technical Architecture, and a Logical Information Model.
Future releases will deliver specific extensions to this draft release, related to additional care settings and prescribing groups.
