Workshop hits the mark as vendors and jurisdictions get updated on NEHTA's work and progress

May 29, 2007. NEHTA hosted a series of Vendor Focus Sessions and a Jurisdiction Summit in Brisbane on 29 May to provide an opportunity for health IT industry experts to hear about the latest work completed and future directions being undertaken by NEHTA.

The day, which is part of NEHTA's stakeholder engagement strategy, was attended by 150 senior architects, technical staff and e-health experts from the e-health vendor and standards communities and jurisdictional representatives interested in NEHTA's work. Industry associations, AIIA and the MSIA, and standards bodies, Standards Australia and HL7 Australia, were also in attendance.

Participants had the chance to contribute to and provide feedback on key recent NEHTA publications and e-health software vendors were provided with an opportunity to explore, in a small group setting, the implications of NEHTA's work for their software and systems.

The Jurisdiction Summit was a one day series of workshops for jurisdictional representatives who had the opportunity to work closely with NEHTA's technical experts and understand next steps and practicable use of NEHTA's work.

Feedback from participants was extremely positive with most enthusiastic about attending similar events in the future.
