National Product Catalogue (NPC) Information Seminar a huge success!
June 27, 2007. Over 125 representatives from the pharmaceutical and medical supplier industry attended the National Product Catalogue (NPC) Information Seminar on June 27th.
Participating suppliers were updated on the progress of the NPC and those suppliers not presently involved were informed of what they need to do to start populating the catalogue as soon as possible. Representatives from the NSW, QLD, VIC, SA and TAS health jurisdictions presented their plans for implementation and were there to answer any questions that suppliers have about this process.
NEHTA conducted several supplier information sessions during 2006 and the MIAA also supplemented these with several e-mail updates and an e-commerce seminar in November.
To date around 300 healthcare suppliers have now registered with GS1, approximately 50 of which have already loaded their product data representing over 25,000 products. The remaining healthcare companies are expected to load their data into the NPC with in the next few weeks. Based on the advice provided by a large number of suppliers, NEHTA expects those companies still in the early processes of getting their data ready for the NPC to populate the catalogue in the next few months.
Presentations from the sessions are available now.
