Website Revamp & SNOMED CT Online

The NEHTA website has been revamped to improve the manner in which NEHTA's work is delivered online.  Building on the release of NEHTA's National E-Health Standards Catalogue in August 2006, the revised website now provides the means to view all NEHTA publications by domain area or by resource type. In addition, the website now links to a secure extranet site for the online delivery of SNOMED Clinical Terms® (SNOMED CT), for those licensed to access SNOMED CT from NEHTA.

What has changed

The horizontal menu bar that appears across the top of the website provides quick and easy access to key areas of interest.  ‘About NEHTA' provides information about NEHTA's origins, governance structure and senior staff. ‘Our Work' groups NEHTA's initiatives into relevant domain areas, providing direct access to work outputs within each domain area, for ease of navigation. ‘News and Events' details the latest NEHTA news and activities. This new structure provides a one-stop-shop for those interested in a particular subject.

‘Publications' on the main menu bar has new categories to improve access to publications. The ‘What's New' category contains NEHTA's most recent publications. The ‘All Publications' category lists all of NEHTA's work outputs by resource type (e.g. Information Specifications, Content and Requirements; Technical Publications and Specifications; Support Materials; etc). The ‘Presentations' category contains includes NEHTA's presentations at conferences as well as at NEHTA events.

In addition, the National E-Health Standards Catalogue has been updated to version 2.0.

All NEHTA publications provide document metadata and direct feedback mechanisms under the ‘Details & Feedback' link, as well as a direct link for downloading. The metadata for each resource includes a unique identifier, publication date, document description and resource type.

Terminologies for the Australian Health Sector

A new feature for those who hold a license with NEHTA to receive SNOMED CT is a secured site that permits online downloads for all SNOMED CT licensed materials. This extranet can be easily accessed through the NEHTA website (e.g. under ‘Links') - a user ID and password (provided by NEHTA to license holders) is required.

The secure site provides immediate access to SNOMED CT updates and new resources.

Advanced Search

An ‘Advanced Search' is now available and provides a more comprehensive search function, allowing the user to search based on key words, publication dates, resource types and search areas.

RSS Feed

NEHTA's RSS remains in place (linked to the ‘NEHTA Newsfeed'), to allow users to easily check the latest news and publications without visiting the NEHTA website.
