Our board, our people, our clinicians, our reference groups.

NEHTA’s governance framework provides the structure for effective management and decision making, and provides a strong basis for accountability and advancement of the NEHTA work programme.

The governance structure consists of:

• NEHTA Members; the States, Territories and the Commonwealth of Australia and which are represented by the CEOs of each of the nine Australian State, Territory and Federal Health Departments. There are also two Independent Directors, and one of whom holds the position as Chair of the Board

• The NEHTA Board of Directors

• Board Committees

• The Chief Executive Officer

• The Company Secretary

• The NEHTA organisation

The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of NEHTA and the delivery of NEHTA’s mandated programme of work.

NEHTA’s Chief Executive is the custodian of NEHTA’s strategic direction and is responsible for the fulfilment of this in the day to day operation of the company.

NEHTA currently has four Board Committees. These are:

• Audit Committee

• Risk Committee

• Finance Committee

• Remuneration Committee
