The Victorian HealthSMART IHI pre-implementation project documents provide learnings that can be shared with the sector.  These documents can help stakeholders better prepare themselves in their local implementations of identifiers. Pre-implementation risk assessments highlight what has to be done by a jurisdiction, beyond the responsibility of the Healthcare Identifiers Service and software vendors, to ensure quality and safety as identifiers are used.
