SNOMED CT International Release
The Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine, Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT®) is considered the most comprehensive, multilingual clinical terminology in the world. When implemented in software, SNOMED CT represents clinically relevant information consistently, reliably and comprehensively as an integral part of the electronic health record.
SNOMED CT is maintained by the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO®). Content is continuously reviewed and updated by the IHTSDO and member nations to ensure that SNOMED CT meets evolving user needs.
SNOMED CT releases are distributed in Australia twice each year by the National Clinical Terminology and Information Service (established by NEHTA). These releases are available from the NCTIS Secure Website.
NCTIS has developed a set of SNOMED CT training materials that are available from Education Resources.
