eProcurement
eProcurement conformity assessment is jointly developed by NEHTA’s CCA and Supply Chain teams. Supply Chain is responsible for developing Australian specifications for eProcurement which define the software system interoperability requirements that enable healthcare buyers and suppliers to trade electronically.
These specifications are subset of the GS1 global standards, incorporating national requirements from Standards Australia, and comprise a suite of electronic message blueprints for use by public and private sector healthcare organisations.
At the heart of a successful healthcare eProcurement system is the Message Implementation Guide (MIG). The MIG contains Electronic Data Interchange specifications for transactions such as purchase orders, order responses and invoicing.
To assist buyers in the design and construction of standardised eProcurement systems, NEHTA’s Supply Chain team in conjunction with the NEHTA CCA team has developed a MIG pack containing templates, example XML code and self-assessment checklists.
The following organisations have successfully implemented a Message Implementation Guide that conforms to NEHTA eProcurement specifications.
