This specification forms part of a suite of data specifications developed by NEHTA. The collection standardises various clinical concepts to form structured clinical documents that can be implemented by system designers to a level 4 (semantic) interoperability in the Australian healthcare setting.
The NEHTA Medication Data Specification defines requirements for the electronic collection and exchange of data used in prescribing, dispensing, administering and reviewing medications to individuals.
This Medication Data Specification is to be used in conjunction with other relevant NEHTA specifications, in particular the Australian Medicines Terminology specifications.
